#9 (44 mm x 23.5 mm) twin disk agglomerated corks, for standard-sized wine bottles.
These corks feature two discs of pure cork on each end, with an agglomeration of cork composing the inside. These will act like full corks, for a fraction of the price.
Grade differentiation is based on the voids (or holes) in the cork, which dictates oxygen permeability, and translates into aging potential of the cork.
Corks come in bags of 50, 200, or 1,000.
"B" Grade corks have slightly bigger voids, allowing for medium-term aging, roughly 5-7 years.
These corks come pre-coated in a sulfite gas; therefore we do not recommend sanitizing or soaking these corks before use.
